The other problem (at least right now) with PreCheck is that not all airlines participate in it. Frontier and Spirit are the big two out of MSP that I can think of, though there are surely others that don't participate.
Huh. I didn't realize that airline had to participate. That's really silly as all they do is print someone on the boarding pass.

I wonder if I can show TSA my Global Entry card and get in the precheck line even if it's not on the boarding pass.

Anyone on here have experience since the change? I'm headed out of town on Sunday morning. International Flight is at 10am. We are a group of 10 or so. Two small children (under 2) and one with a cane or wheelchair (broken hip 8 weeks ago).... I keep saying we should be there 2:30-3hrs early, but others think that is too soon and adds a lot of time for the young ones.

Any thoughts?

You're screwed. You need to show up early with that many. Sunday morning + warm weather destination, the airport will be very busy.

They're suggesting a minimum of 2.5 hours for int'l travel.

Thanks guys. I'll be doing my best to push the group earlier. But in a perfect world, should I really need to show up 3 hrs early for a 4 hr flight? Doubling the travel time? That's crazy!

2 hours should be fine. Just prepare for slow going.

So I was at the airport departing thursday and then arriving today. What are they doing with the areas that were previously check points? Now they are giant blank areas in the check-in area. Everything is just seeming a bit rundown, half done in this area of the airport.

They will remodel the side that faces the drop off area to have more ticket counter area. The back side on the "mall" will have new larger bathrooms and more shops.

There are, in fact, massive changes coming to the ticketing hall and baggage claim.

I flew out today, a little after noon. Went to the south checkpoint and was through with my shoes on in 20 minutes.

Sunday morning. It took me about 1 hr to get through the line. I stood in line from 8am to 9am. They were asking if people had a flight in less than an hour and were pulling them out of line and putting them through the shorter Pre Check lines.

I was amazed that not only did the lines meet in the middle, they overlapped for about 50 ft.

Terminal 1 - 5:00 PM - 5 minutes

That includes the time it took being patted down (which of course happens on my first time flying alone)
