From Nicollet to Hennepin is .7 miles, and according to the Metro Transit interactive map there are 6 stops in each direction (the 4 you list, plus Nicollet and Hennepin). That's 6 stops in .7 miles. I don't think stop spacing is a problem here, at least not stops being too far apart.
