Sally's was a great place. Had great dinner deals every night of the week for students. Not to mention a great place before basketball and hockey games and after football games. Pretty sure I have been to that establishment well over 500 times in my young life. Would be really sad to have it not return.

A friend of a friend got an advertisement card in the mail about this building a month or so ago (after the first Sally's rumor had been posted here) and it still said that Sally's would be coming back.

I heard a rumor that Sally's will not be coming back into the new building. The owners had a falling out, or something like that, and Sally's is finished. The new story is that a Cowboy Jack's will be going in instead, but I have no proof of that.
Just to be clear, this entire discussion about Sally's not returning is based entirely on this comment. There is no other evidence supporting Sally's closing (that I know of, at least), and there is still Sally's branding all over the literature surrounding this project, and on the construction site itself.

Saw on the Facebooks that Sally's is hiring now. Except it looks like they're owned by the After Midnight Group, who owns Cowboy Jacks. But they also own The Joint and the Cabooze so I'm not actually worried.

Head guy of afternoon midnight group was part owner of Sally's back in the day. They will do a good job with it! From a former Sally's employee.

I'm really into the Yellow, I decided. I think we need to make better use of color, I agree not random assortments, but fun and thought out color patterns can make an area really distinct. I think WAHU is doing that too, even though it has more color it's not so hodgepodge.

I'm a fan of more color in general, but my inner Gopher fan is pretty unhappy about a building within two blocks of the stadium being painted in Iowa's colors.

You and everyone else's mother. We're re-siding the house in about three weeks and went out looking at houses to select colors. Yellow is apparently the new trend in exterior coloring. It's just unbelieveable how many yellow houses are in the Uptown area.

Ha! that's funny because I don't like yellow houses typically ( and I used to be an exterior designer so I chose paint colors for a lot of houses in my day)

I took this photo of it yesterday. Washington is developing a nice midrise street wall:

Man, Sally's really missed their late summer re-open date. Walked by this 3 weeks ago for the Gopher game and commented how much business that meant for them. Looks like they'll miss at least 4 (of 7) home games, and the ones where outdoor seating is mostly pleasant.
