14th and Central

Postby Aville_37 » May 2nd, 2014, 6:06 pm

I believe there is already a thread for this but couldn't find it. Anyhoo - some renderings of two competing proposals for the site.

City-owned property. That is the reason for the RFP, and then the city decides what they like the best. Same type of thing on the DTE site with Ryan & Mortenson going against each other.

Across the street is a massive piece of land. I'd hope for something much more ambitious than either of these proposals here. It could go a long way toward connecting the heart of the NE arts district with everything that's happening on Central.

Okay, I'll be the first to vote: I prefer the first (top) proposal......by a mile.

Yeah, I don't think they city should be selling land for a single story anything at this point.

An office building for movie production related businesses sounds weird, but they're not asking for subsidies as far as I can tell so I guess they think they can make it work.
