NIEBNA voted tonight to rescind previous approval of this project.

Another fight for another day. Will have to see if Nye's stays open in 2016 or if they close it down and it sets empty for awhile. Still need to have proposals that pencil out. If Nye's is not making the money then it is not penciling out either. I see another Linden Hills where they hope for less but will most likely not get, or get a piece of sh*t because that is all they can afford to build. Only time will tell.

Especially since they announced the closing, the place has been packed. They are not losing money (and I sincerely doubt they ever were).

According to the twitter, apparently the renderings shown at the NIEBNA neighborhood (which apparently are new and have not seen public light?) were so drastically different from what has been shown before that the group felt hoodwinked (so to say) and withdrew support. I'd be curious to see the renderings/design - can't imagine it would change so drastically that strong supporters all of a sudden hated it enough.

Nye's to remain open through this year. Owners claim it has nothing to do with recent delays, etc. They say it's just because of the recent uptick in business, basically. I'm tending to think like MNdible on this one..

Plot twist: It was Duval's 80-story tower.

Let's wait to see what materials they use before we make any rash judgments about the design, guys.

Tbh a Forest Acro would be a good iconic building for the Nicollet Hotel block.

So the design changed?

I've been on a kick the last few days to finish this model.
