Red 20 - 20 6th Street NE
Re: Red 20 - (519 Central Ave NE, former Totino's site)
I was just at Red Stag today as well. It's hard to tell because Red Stag isn't allowed to use the lot anymore but there were still a handful of cars there. Does anyone know if Totinos will have public parking? If not that could be a big hit to the restaurant.

I was just at Denny Kemp and they said not to park in the lot anymore because construction will be starting very soon

Went to Rusty Taco for lunch, and it looks like they are dropping off construction equipment at this site today.

Maybe we should have the next UrbanMSP get-together at somebody's house and we can bake a bunch of Totino's Party Pizzas in its honor.

Just an observation, but given that Minnesotans tend to be ultra prideful about our unique offerings to the world, it's kind of surprising there isn't still a Totino's retail operation. Can't you imagine people brining their out of town guests: "Oh yeah, pizza rolls? Right here. We invented it."

It's a shame that they opted to relocate to their failed Mounds View location. I used to eat here quite often when I was a kid.Just an observation, but given that Minnesotans tend to be ultra prideful about our unique offerings to the world, it's kind of surprising there isn't still a Totino's retail operation. K, hold on.......we're not digging on Totino's, are we? I LOVE their $1 frozen party pizzas! And I fancy myself as a quasi-pizza connoisseur!
Re: Red 20 - (519 Central Ave NE, former Totino's site)
Did Jeno's? or Totinos invent the pizza roll? I miss jenos place in duluth in canal park before the tourista was formed by grandmas at the lift bridge

Jeno's invented Pizza Rolls, but Totino's invented freeze-able pizza crust, and hence FROZEN PIZZA, in that building. That thing should have been on the NRHP for its cultural significance. Imagine a world with no frozen pizza, guys.

That's no world I'd want to live in.

A world with no frozen pizza is what has helped me lose nearly 40 pounds.

I like how you subtly worked in that weight loss reference.

Wishing there was a way to close/tame 6th St right here. Looks like it will be used for parking access for this project, which makes sense since 1st and Central are both busy. But maybe it could be some sort of shared space.
Re: Red 20 - (519 Central Ave NE, former Totino's site)
Yeah, I think we've talked about this before. In my opinion, 6th is probably the only cross street through this stretch of Hennepin/Central that's truly expendable from a circulation point of view. It would have been a good candidate for pedestrianizing. Perhaps some woonerfing is in order, whenever they get around to reconstructing this.

Point of information: the address of this building will be 20 6th St NE (hence the Red"20" name)
