It looks like it's just the Sunday print edition, though; no digital access is included. We subscribed for a year on the Groupon deal, although we may be able to "swap names" and use it again for our residence.

EDIT: On the same delivery person, I'm not sure how it works in our area. They seem to have different colored bags for the Strib and the PiPress, and the neighbors seem to usually get their copy of the PiPress.

Little known fact, the carriers are independent contractors who have to purchase those bags for your paper. It's a nicety they provide at their cost, not the newspaper.

Yeah MinnPost did a story a couple years ago about how being a newspaper delivery person is basically the worst job you can have. There's tons of pressure, and if you make a mistake or can't keep up with the steep demands you can be fined and essentially lose most of what you earn.

Anybody else get an offer to subscribe to the Strib in the mail recently? I think they were offering $0.99/week for the Sunday paper and $1.09/week for the Sunday paper plus 7 day digital access. 26 week subscription. They had a third option, but don't remember what it was. Is this about a low as it gets?

That's about as good as it gets. I did get 26 weeks of digital for $19.99 once upon a time, but that was an email "beg to come back" offer.

I got the same offer in the mail yesterday that you refer to. I'm going to sign up for 26 weeks of Sunday + digital for $1.09/week.

*I cancelled my subscription at the end of Feb. but I have not encountered a single paywall yet, despite reading about 5-10 articles per day. Strange.

Yep, think I'm going to do the $1.09/wk Sunday plus digital too.

The paywall doesn't seem to work at all on my work computer, I can read well over 10 articles in a month there, during my lunch break of course ;) and no paywall. On my phone it seems like it pops up before I have reached my limit.

WTF just happened with the Strib's website? Looks like crap on Chrome. Everything is pushed way over to the left column.

I got 52 weeks of digital-only for $30 at the State Fair last year, and they threw in a free picnic cooler as well (could have also chosen a $10 Target card or an umbrella.) I also got a Groupon last year for 52 weeks of Sunday print only for $26, but I haven't seen that since.

The state fair often seems to be the cheapest place to subscribe, but I think $0.99-$1.09 is a decent promo rate.

Anyone else ever have trouble commenting via mobile? I can type a comment just fine but the blue "post your comment" button does nothing, even after repeated taps, refreshing and trying again, etc.

Using Safari on iPhone 7

I can't even read comments using Firefox on Android, but I've never tried too hard to fix that. I figure I'm a happier person if I'm not reading the Strib comments. Especially until the 38th St Bikepocalypse peters out.

I briefly had trouble loading comments earlier today on some stories, but not all.

Can't make comments while on a mobile device? Great, sounds like they implemented my feature request :-P
