3/4 of my village starved to death because I didn't have have houses in the right place in relation to workplace and markets.

So, great (I mean that unironically, I love it).

I'm enjoying Banished, too. So far I've only killed one herd of peeps.

Thanks for sharing. That's a fun little game. I like playing with different types of metros.

Up to 601, but my buddy got 881. Can't believe it... And I can't believe how addicting it is!

I agree it's horribly addicting. Just got 589 and am trying to rethink my strategy. Thanks for mentioning it!

After wrapping up 100 hours a campaign of Rome: Total War II, I got Banished yesterday. It's good for $20, but it makes me miss a lot of those good city building games from back in the day like Pharaoh and the Caesar series.

The Golden Age is passed and statues of gods and kings lie broken and buried in the dust.

Probably the best poem ever written on a napkin as a bar bet.

Ahh, what a great game. I spent/wasted a lot of time playing it a couple weeks ago. It feels like somewhere in the 500/600s my strategy fails. If it had a pause button that would allow you to totally redesign the system, the game would be a lot more fun. My best was somewhere in the low 700s, can't remember what exactly.

I agree about the pause button, but it might be a specific choice. Like in real life, if you designed a system poorly in the beginning, you can't rip out all your subways and restart after your city grows. I'm sure NYC wishes you could though. But the game moves so fast it's hard for me to draw things fast enough, much less draw them intelligently.

Click the clock in the upper right corner to pause and resume. I hit the mid 700's without pausing but with pausing and using my fifth line an 'oh shit' relief valve managed to hi 1273. Still amazed someone got 1606 (on steams forum).
