This just gave me another idea. I think I might go around and try to remove as much of that graffiti pen as I can, looks like a can of remover is $8
I'd be very very careful what kind of graffiti you're removing! I personally wouldn't touch anything with a "VL" or "M"/"13"/"M13", for example. Somebody may think you're trying to mark their "turf"!!

Hahaha I don't know if you're being serious or not because I really don't think any "gang" is going to be all up in arms about removing shit from a bus sign. Seriously. I don't care.

Guerrilla Urbanism

Postby Anondson » October 9th, 2014, 9:24 am

I can see the convenience of having the label be the same and just handwriting the changeable portion. Handwriting it can make it feel more amateurish... I'm okay with that! What does the "this brought to you by" say at the bottom?

The bus stop stickers look awesome.

I would love to see/do some DIY pedestrian zebra crossings at tons of locations. Probably would need to buy spray chalk in bulk.

Did the stickers maybe get this bumped to reality and off the Met Council concept boards? I feel like claiming victory!

Guerilla urbanism backfire? Man paints speed limit on street where speeders are out of control, city fines man.

even Phoenix has route maps at most of their bus stops... (not that the bus is coming any time soon there, you'll have plenty of time to memorize the route) so this would be nice.

I've often fantasized about doing some DIY traffic calming but I'd almost certainly get arrested for it.

I seem to recall someone building a speed bump outside of his home in the not to distant past. Couldn't find a story about that, but I did find this...

Anyone seen those stenciled way point markers that were spray painted in black? They were around last summer but I don't know if some have started to fade or not. I'm thinking of making some myself possibly

Check this guy out: His name is Casey Neistat and you may have heard of him. He's a vlogger type guy and big biker living in NYC. He was fed up with bike parking not being available in front of the studio he leases out so he decided to up a bike rack there without the cities permission

Spoiler Alert: ...and then he had to remove it the next day or face charges and eviction.

Why? Was it a safety issue in case of fire or something?
