The funny thing is, if there actually were a downtown height limit, it would be maybe the smartest thing this city had ever done. Minneapolis needs supertalls sucking up all the construction demand like it needs a hole in its head (or, well, another).

Newest info I gathered today is that the tower formerly proposed at 40 stories at 200 Hennepin is now reduced to max out at either 37,30 or 27 floors. I predicted this reduction weeks earlier. Let's see what happens because only 2 things happen in Minneapolis with absolute certainty .. #1- the tower never gets built
#2- the tower gets a substantial floor count reduction.
