I wonder if legal liabilities are too big of a barrier for this.

Potentially. I was just brainstorming. Of what liabilities are you thinking? One thing that could cut down on uncontrolled entrances exits and over crowding, is to have the lot enclosed. That could limit who comes in and out, however that sense of limitation may be the reason some people avoid shelters.

Yeah I was going to say, I don't think people that "choose" that lifestyle do it because they love the outdoors, but because they love the freedom and lack of responsibility.

I'm just imagining if someone gets hurt or dies on the property they might be liable if they knew they were living there and their tent wasn't safe or something. At least for the current tent cities, they can just pretend their not aware of it. I don't know, just a thought.

Looks like the state troopers were clearing out the Hiawatha trail camp this morning. As I was biking by there were three state trooper cars parked there and everyone was taking down their tents/lean-to's and whatnot. Not sure if something happened, or if there were just a bunch of complaints or what.
