A 4,000 foot "long" tower bending in an arch proposed for Manhattan?

Nope! Just a concept. Never trust the Daily Mail.

But it's so fun to get worked up and outraged some days!

Looks like a hairpin. The longest marketing is really pretty stupid.

"The House That Dimon Built: JPMorgan Plans Soaring HQ in Midtown"

"The headquarters will house 15,000 of the bank’s employees and could be between 70 and 75 stories, depending on how wide its footprint is, said a person with knowledge of the company’s plans. The current structure is 52 stories. The new building, which has yet to be designed, could be as much as 500 feet (150 meters) taller than the current headquarters, said the person, who asked not to be identified because details of the plans haven’t been publicly disclosed."

The current tower is 701' so another 500' would be 1201'. Another skyline addition I suppose.

The thing I wonder... where do all those employees go for the 5(!?!?) year demolition and build? Imagine demolishing one of our big 3? That's a lot of people to displace.

EDIT: ok so I read to the bottom and see that they will be spread out over many locations. This is a huge logistical nightmare. But I guess if the current building was complete in 1961, it almost made it 60 years.

Do we have a list of the largest skyscrapers to be dismantled? This must be up there.

EDIT: There's a list for that.

Not big 3, but I fantasize about demolishing 33 South Sixth almost daily.

Hey Minneapolis made the list!

And as that page confirms, this would be the tallest demoed skyscraper yet.

The Death of a Once Great City

Kind of a compelling read... I’m kinda glad Minneapolis never became the sort of city billionaires and oligarchs bought up to launder their money via real estate.

This is fantastic. Now we just need a lawsuit that forces the construction of sidewalks and ramps throughout the 7 county Twin Cities area. :D

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watc ... mps-at-all
The agreement will require pedestrian ramps and upgrades on specific schedules for 162,000 street corners across the five boroughs as well as citywide surveys of all the ramps and ongoing maintenance.

It will also require the creation of a new Pedestrian Ramp Unit within the city’s Department of Transportation.

I never supported the AirTrain, but to say extending the N/W to LGA is infeasible is just ridiculous.
