My favorite local Coney Island is at the Gopher Bar in downtown St Paul... one of the more "interesting" joints downtown...

They do, as does Uncle Franky's and the Weinery.

It's important to note that a chili dog is not the same as a Coney.

Well in general it's a pretty broad term. There are two different places that claim to have invented it, and a multitude of variations since. Pork sausage, pork hot dog, or beef hot dog. Ground beef or ground beef heart. Sweet sauce or peppery sauce. Cheese or no cheese. But Uncle Franky's has both a coney and a chili dog.

Yeah, the important thing that most people miss is that the sauce is a Greek style meat sauce, not a Tex-Mex style chili.

Our friends at Wikipedia do a pretty good job of laying out the regional varietals.

Anyone know what corner this is? Seems to have a theater behind it.

Also, are there any legitimate Coney Island joints in Minneapolis? We need more Coney Island joints.
That is the Solara building, I think they took out the Coney for the current entrance. That's probably where the stair and elevators to the upper floors are. Never been inside so I'm only speculating. Please correct me if I'm wrong .
