Photo Tour?

Postby FISHMANPET » January 30th, 2014, 12:10 am

I see that Nick got himself a real camera that doesn't make phone calls, but commented that he wasn't sure how to use it, and it gave me an idea. Maybe some weekend when it gets warmer we could have an UrbanMSP photo tour. Bring your cameras, walk around, take some pictures, learn some picture stuff from each other.

I know I've got a DSLR that is criminally underutilized, anyone else have any thoughts?

I used to be a photo minor, and I know a number of guys on here are even better with dslr than I am... would be a fun activity.

I have a dslr as well, primarily using it for video. I'd like to learn more about photography.

Maybe we can meet at "Vista View Park" in Burnsville and compare how telephoto lenses capture the essence of downtown?

Well I'd be up for this. I do this for a living. Could teach you guys a few tricks.

Never thought MattAudio would want to go to Burnsville voluntarily. Ha.

Hey, I grew up south of the river. It has its virtues. As long as you don't need to commute north of the river.

Nick, did you get a DSLR? Do you have a wide-angle lens? I've been meaning to get one for my t3i. Not sure you'll find an iphone equivalent for panoramic stitching unless you use the Lindeke technique.

I'd be up for this as well. I do a lot of videography and dabble a bit into photography.

Just got a 10-20mm lens for my D5100, ready to shoot some buildings!

I just bought the 24-120 f/4 and 28 f/1.8 for my business. Was thinking about the 16-35 for an ultra wide, but will wait until next year.

Got them last week. Unfortunately I sent the D800 in for a cleaning this week. Shooting my D5000 an D300 until the repairs completed.

I plan on doing my own bike tour taking pictures around town. Just got a new dslr a few months ago that I'm eager to use.

Maybe now that a lot more of us have met in person this wouldn't be such a scary idea anymore? Probably too cold for a bit longer but I feel like in a month or so the weather would be nice enough for a photo tour.

Just don't spill any beer on my camera and we'll be fine.

How does one drink beer on a segway? Rather ride the bastard child of the Google Streetview Camera Car and the Pedal Pub.

One doesn't drink bear on a segway when he's underage ;)
