I was talking to an exec there and she said they start moving folks over in November and everyone will be there by December.
Thanks for that bit of news. There are a whole lot of move in dates I'm wondering about. This satisfies one of them.

The look of this building has improved as the exterior nears completion. Much of the recent stone work ties together the varying materials and not being surrounded by dirt helps as well. I have to wonder where all of the future inhabitants will buy lunch. Not a ton of quick options nearby.

This area has seen enormous development in the past few years. Once they build the speculative office building it will be pretty much complete - http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/b ... polis.html

Too bad a gas station was built on the one corner, it could have been a truly urban intersection.

Though I too would love to see a world in which people don't feel the need to surround themselves with 1-ton objects while transporting, this gas station is about as good as it gets. The car wash is unfortunate for anyone who rents an apartment next to it, but the building itself hides much of the fueling area from the street. And, most remarkably, there is a door facing the corner! And the door is unlocked (at least during the day)!

That Holiday is a gem compared with the Bobby and Steve mess up on Washington. Good traffic flow, a door right at the corner for those that are walking from the west, and it is one of the only station in the area for those that need to fuel a car and not have to drive a few miles to do that. The Colony or Holiday that are up by Washington and Broadway would be the closest other stations in the area. The big plus is that Holiday is kind of the neighborhood go to place for a quick lite meal, snacks, drinks, some groceries, and other products. So the Holiday does serve the neighborhood well. I do see a lot of workers at NMD using the Holiday daily for different reasons. Plus I think having commercial across from the HCRE is a smart move with the garbage trucks that go by all the time.

When ever I've been in there there are always quite a few people in there buying things, so they are definitely serving the community well.

Walking by today and the exterior looks like it is coming along nicely. Exterior should be done by the middle of October. The interior looks like they only have a small portion of that space built out though.

Looks like there's some cornice lighting facing 5th. Could see it on Washington.

I heard from a friend that his old team (at Be The Match) is moving in December. They were over at the new building starting to test infrastructure. We'll probably see people moving soon!!!

I talked to one of their VPs or presidents or something earlier this year...they'll have everyone moved in before the end of December.

Look, I'm not in love with this building either, but seriously -- we get it, you don't like it. Which isn't shocking, because by my recollection, you haven't liked a single thing that's been proposed or built in the entire time you've been active on the forum. And it's the fault of the architects, and the developers, and the city.

"We should expect better." OK, that and $20m will get you a six story stick frame apartment building.
