Magellan is advertising on the Soldier Field scoreboard during today's Vikings game. This could indicate a supertall.
I believe that Magellan is part of the Wanda Vista Tower on the river there in Chicago. I think one of the sections of the tower is 93 stories, 1151 feet to the roof (supertall). I don't think that was for the benefit of us in MPLS. Would be great if they were a part of the Franklin tower there on Marquette, but I think that is just wishful thinking right now on our part.

Upon further analysis, it appears the sign was actually a tribute to the explorer who died 494 years ago this past April. So it actually had nothing to do with an impending supertall in Minneapolis after all. No word about St. Paul though.

I actually just heard from a friend that Ecolab has plans to start building supertalls in St. Paul. Ecolab just discovered a free-energy generating technology and now they'll need a bunch of burj khalifas worth of office and residential space for their expected growth. Here's a leaked rendering whose origin I can't comment on any further than saying it must be taken down.

He also said 3M and Target are considering relocating to the Custom House.

I guess we need a Urban Jokes thread. Also is that part of the Dubai mess?

Wading through a cesspit of some racist comments in a few threads in a SLP history focused group, someone posted that the old Lakeland Hotel, now called Val U Stay, "is going". The poster claimed the owner wasn't speaking of details but wasn't denying the scoop.

In the thread someone also pointed out that Vescio's, right next door, is closing on December 20.

All this is adjacent to The Shoreham, which is being built right now, across the street. And it is in the walkshed of the SWLRT station to be built on Lake.

Seems like someone could be assembling a site for something in an area perfect for TOD.

Unfortunately, I heard this proposal was scaled back to a 6 story stick apartment with no retail space. Bummer.

Not to mention it'll be built on a ten story parking podium.
