Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Postby Aville_37 » June 2nd, 2014, 9:03 pm

Very happy that the Sculpture Garden and Cowles Conservatory were awarded $8.5 million in state money for renovations. From the sounds of it - will be infrastructure improvements - lighting, irrigation, probably replacement of trees, etc. Still last time I walked through was staring to looked tired and in rough shape.

I wish they would put in sidewalks and get rid of the gravel walkways. Those are pretty tacky and for those of us who are high maintenance, we don't like to get our shoes dirty.

16 new pieces will be added when the renovation is complete. Including a 20 foot tall blue rooster.

I kind of love the giant rooster. I'm glad to see a MN based artist included too.

Yeah totally into the rooster, and a number of things described. Can't wait to see them. This could really push us up to a pretty prestigious place again.

Very happy to see the vacant Guthrie site getting fully incorporated into the Sculpture Garden. Can't wait to see the finished product.
