That was incredibly informative. Every time I walked by the Mattress Firm on Hennepin it was empty, same with the new one on Lake.

Guess I need to find some high margin business to start. Offering only the best financing options, of course. :)

Checkout http://sleepopolis.com/ I cannot personally attest to internet mattresses, but judging by the thoroughness and enthusiasm by the site's managing editor I would think you could get many questions answered. The next mattress we buy will definitely be one from an internet purveyor.

I bought a Leesa last fall. It was fine at first, but it's not supporting me as well as I hoped, I sink in to the foam too much, and I've been having some back pain. They give you a 100-day trial period, but of course, my back pain started after that. I've never had back issues before in my life.

My wife isn't having issues, so maybe it's due to my size/weight? She's around 120 pounds, and I'm around 195.

So I have a $900 mattress that I'm not using. Customer service has stated that they can't offer any type of refund. I'm very unsatisfied.

What do people know about the Original Mattress Factory? Their radio commercials are convincing, but I have no idea.

At least you didn't get a $3600 memory foam sleep number bed that neither you nor your partner wanted but each agreed to because it's what they thought the other one wanted.

That sounds like the worst. So yeah, things could be way worse. But I would definitely urge people to be cautious about all these online-only memory foam mattresses.

I got my $99 memory foam mattress from Aldi a couple years ago. Works for me!

Uptown has now reached full bro status. Cyclebar is opening up in the last remaining spaces of the Walkway.

I'm not sure that spinning is really a bro thing.

The website certainly suggests that the target demo is the ladies.

Scena has closed down, which probably comes as little to surprise to people who lived in Uptown or knew people that worked there. It really wasn't a terrible place. It just never caught on. I think Libertine and to a lesser extent, Coup D'etat have worked themselves into a nice niche in Uptown for the more upscale crowd. However, I'm just not sure how big that market is. Most Uptowners just aren't down for $10 drinks and $20+ food. Most people I saw eating in Scena appeared to be couples from the 'burbs who thought it would cool to have dinner in Uptown, but how many people are actually doing that?

I think a concept similar to Bar Louie would be decent in the space. Not saying Bar Louie is the best concept ever or place in Uptown but it fills a role well. The Scena location also has plenty of patio space (2 levels) that I've never really seen used.

They've stopped using the large open kitchen area entirely. The big chalkboards are empty. Has that dying restaurant feel, but it always felt like a temporary build-out anyhow
