"Holy shit" seems like an appropriate reaction to this.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
So the Days Inn that was recently remodeled is toast?

Can somebody summarize the article for the unfortunate souls who don't have subscriptions. The conceptual renderings look gloriously sexy.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
Perhaps related to this, I noticed that the University was trying to get the City of Minneapolis to vacate the stub of 4th Street immediately behind the Days Inn.

No more Tea House?
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
That looks kind of awesome. Although I'm wondering a bit about the post-game crowd management.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
I find it pretty hypocritical that the U protested the Harbor Bay tower all the while developing this project right down the street.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
Not a giant fan of that unscreened parking ramp in the second image, but everything else looks fantastic.
Also, lol at single-car trains.

Re: United Properties SV Station Project
Pedestrian bridge built with regional transit dollars would alleviate much of the post event crowd management problems?
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
It will be interesting to see how big that ramp actually is in the site plan. Past master plans have identified this site as a potential replacement location for the Oak Street Ramp.

In their defense, there isn't much over there right now from which to screen the garage. Not a giant fan of that unscreened parking ramp in the second image, but everything else looks fantastic.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
If that ramp replaced the Oak St. Ramp, I'd take that trade in a second. Though I'd still like some aesthetic screening.
And by screen, I don't necessarily mean like active uses, just a facade that's a little prettier than the Washington side of the Guthrie ramp. This is pretty much going to be the end cap of the Green 4th St plan, once that's all built out.

Their market study of the property from last year. UP has owned the Days Inn since 2013.

The above ground parking is out of the plan now. The description says they've moved it below grade.

I love this. Especially the first rendering. Wow.
The problem with being an introvert online is that no one knows you're just hanging out and listening.
Re: United Properties SV Station Project
Interesting. Based on what happened at the Gopher Stadium, bedrock and the water table are both really high here (that's why the field isn't sunken very far below grade compared to the Vikings Stadium). So you'd presume that you won't be able to have much in the way of underground parking.

What's in the back corner then? Open space? The above ground parking is out of the plan now. The description says they've moved it below grade.

Which we denied mostly to maintain the connection through the site from the stadium to Prospect Park in the event they did some big full block development, so hey.Perhaps related to this, I noticed that the University was trying to get the City of Minneapolis to vacate the stub of 4th Street immediately behind the Days Inn.
