A loving mashup of Centre Village and 33 South Sixth? With that one University Avenue Television building thrown on like an inner-tube at the midsection?

Not a fan.

I happen to enjoy that it's not generic, sucks that it won't be built.

I don't care for it either...way too boxy. Maybe not generic, but fancy boxes are still boxes. It was also not at all complimentary of the Foshay. I think something more slender with a spire would have been better....Hard to say if I would feel the same had it actually been proposed, but I think so. My main concern here was that it would be too close to the Foshay, and this design wasn't at all sensitive to that.

That top half would have turned out to be Multifoods 2.0. It's remarkably bland. The lower half (minus the podium skin) is much better, and would work to extend that glazing twice as high, provided this wasn't right next to the Foshay, because it's wayyy too busy for that to work well. Something like their Jinhua project right below would work excellently to compliment the Foshay.

Spectacularly ugly. On the cutting edge of bad taste. Just... wow. Bullet dodged.

Really horrendous. In a way I'm glad this didn't get built, simply due to the design of it.

Now that everyone got their shots in, lemme back up a second. I thought Perkins+Will was supposed to be the architect on this project? Who is BKL and how do we know this was the actual design work done for Franklin Street Properties?

BkL is the architecture firm with Magellan. Supposedly Magellan teamed up with FSP for the residential component, and that changed the architects.

There's demolition going on inside right now. Do we know what's going in?

Yet the mansard roof remains. Looks like bike parking on the 4th floor too.

Looks like the only change they are making is to make it more difficult to get to the skyway level by removing the escalators. Oh, and filling it with IKEA furniture.

Yep, those giant windows going in where there was a solid brick wall is not an improvement at all. It's not exactly what we wanted, but it's certainly an improvement over the current state.
