Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I think, based on the URL, that that tweet is about the General Mills site, not Nordhaus.
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Nah, I think he just messed up his link. There's a second article on bizjournals for this project.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
The fact that the new render is of a 26 story tower, yet the smaller 19 story Nordhaus is taller in the picture, leads me to believe that this 26 story tower is farther in the background and thus smaller.
But who knows!
But who knows!
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
The second phase is actually farther back on the right - though the illustration does make it look like the base is closer.
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Are we looking at different images? The new (right-hand) tower is clearly taller.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I wonder if the back corner from this view will be rounded as a nod to phase I? The top certainly has a look like the Alatus tower a couple of blocks away.
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
The right hand is taller - it is just a weird perspective because the base looks like it is closer the the left tower. Are we looking at different images? The new (right-hand) tower is clearly taller.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
The view/angle is correct. Its right along 1st ave NE. They spoke about it at a neighborhood meeting.
Its right on the NE corner of 1st Ave NE and 4th Street NE.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Sounds like the entire trench facing part off the lot is going to be the ramp... seems a little wasteful... why nothing along 5th?

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Is it possible that the footprint for this phase is actually rectangular, extending straight back from the street and not including the portion of the lot behind the auto repair shop and facing 5th? That would leave room for a third phase...
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I'm hoping so, because the alternative is that that ramp is the full block wide. I fear that that might be the case, though, because of how short the ramp is. Two or three floors of parking on a half-block footprint doesn't seem like enough (by developer standards). We'll see, though.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
This was my assumption. If it wasn't, that ramp would be far more than 230 spots. Is it possible that the footprint for this phase is actually rectangular, extending straight back from the street and not including the portion of the lot behind the auto repair shop and facing 5th? Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I also assume this is the case. Based on the greater height and lower unit count (compared to phase 1), I'd be pretty surprised if this was the whole block. Is it possible that the footprint for this phase is actually rectangular, extending straight back from the street and not including the portion of the lot behind the auto repair shop and facing 5th? Re: Nordhaus Phase II
From what I've seen, lordmoke is correct.

Tenant waiting list for phase I is apparently 800 long!
*Start 2018
*1.5 to 2 million dollar brownfield grant request

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Tenants for actually living in the building, not the retail space.
Re: Nordhaus Phase II
I should have clarified that. Given how few details there are on the website and how big the number is I wonder how firm that 800 number is as it seems like an awful lot for a building set to open next year that probably doesn't have any units to show yet. Still it explains why we are seeing so many projects in this area.

Re: Nordhaus Phase II
Does this... need to have a separate thread?
I favor consolidation. We had single threads for Mozaic, Elan, Mill & Main, etc. I think we can manage to simultaneously discuss phase II development alongside phase I construction updates
