5 retail bays, including three under 1,000 sq. ft. That will be a nice addition on that stretch.

I’ll go up there tomorrow and get some pictures and post them on my Flickr page. That way we have some good pictures of the way the property looks right now before construction. Not that construction is going to start in the near future.

The cladding in the renders looks very cool. Hope that turns out.

I'm so down. I hope they get started immediately.

(Not downtown though? Technically?)

The picture is a screenshot from my phone. I’m not sure exactly what page it’s from, but I am focusing in particular on the sidewalk. Is this the developer just trying to make Picture look nice, or is the sidewalk for real?

I like the patterns and sidewalks as opposed to them just being boring white concrete.

This development is kind of amazing here. In some ways reminds me of the Greanleaf Apartments on Lyndale that we all like so much.

So pumped to see a developer willing to put in small retail bays. This could really help bridge the gap between Stevens Square/Whittier and downtown that the highway really inflicts on the area.

Its nice to see something finally happening with that space. Its been empty and undeveloped for a long time.

Wow, it was about time. Crossing 94 from downtown (on foot or bike mainly) has felt like you're entering a wasteland. This should at least help to visually bridge the two sides of the freeway. Retail is a major plus, too.

Isn’t this the lot that we chatted about on Bill Lindeke’s Nicollet Ave. Tour a few weeks ago? Great to see it developed into something.

Noticed a sign around the construction site the other day that refers to this as Nico Apartments. Not sure if that's news.

Anyway, construction website up with some renders and a flyover video. http://yellowtreecorp.com/project/nico-apartments/

This project has to win the award for quickest design/approval/permit/construction timeframe. Already topped out!

If I remember correctly, Yellow Tree also has an approved proposal for a similar building on the other side of Nicollet on the parking lot between the hardware store and the freeway. Hope that's still gonna happen.

Yellow Tree is the best developer working in Minneapolis.

They've found a niche of medium-scale neighborhood-feel projects with decent to good design and low parking ratios, and they are building a really impressive number of them in a short period of time. (This was approved Oct 1, 2018)

Amazing change to this neighborhood with all these projects! Fits well and looks nice. Excited to see what retail starts to go in as well.
