Since most people call it Minneapolis, MSP, or Minneapolis-St. Paul, yet this thread calls it "Twin Cities" ....
https://www.ashleymxiong.com/twin-cities/
This must be someone's project for fun? Or maybe for some private brand for tourism paraphernalia?
Cool design, but I don't like the Twin Cities label at. all.

I've called it Twin Cities my whole life. That's why it's the "Twins" after all.

It could be singular if thought of as a pair instead of as two separate entities. Like, “that pair of shoes has green lashes.” #grammarisfun lol 🤓

Presumably the one where you just used "is"?

The project being shared looks an awful lot like what my friends in the U's graphic design program had to do for a portfolio project, so it's probably just something like that.

This reminds me of the monthly post that shows up on the r/Minnesota and r/Minneapolis subreddits where someone decides they need to take our lack of a geometric state flag into their own hands and design one for us.

I pop in now and then, but only for the posts that would go to r/SaintPaul if it wasn't totally dead.

I believe we twin citiyans have a tendency to pat our own backs. At the risk of enabling that, I thought I'd share this link.

Policymakers in peer states think our bodies of regional government are worthy of study! Meanwhile, some Minnesotans want to neuter those same bodies.

From Michigan's point-of-view, not to mention the greater Detroit Metro, Twin Cities' regionalism is definitely something to be modeled after.

Looking at their transit debate with DDOT vs. SMART, and now with RTA in the pictures, and not having enough long-term funding that doesn't cross the county lines, I'm eternally grateful of the regional transit system that the Twin Cities have. (albeit there are of course, we have those opt-out agencies in the TC too.)

While the error is large and alarming... Even with the adjusted/corrected amounts, they blew the goal out of the water these past two years.

Snow Kreilich is getting honored with the 2018 AIA Firm Award this week. This is pretty prestigious, there's only one winner each year, they've given out 55 awards and SOM has won it twice, so pretty elite company.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the Twin Cities are the 4th largest banking center by total assets of banks headquartered in a metro area :-)

Not a surprise there. US Bank is the 7th largest bank by assets, and 4 of the top 6 are HQed in New York. We don't have any other in the top 50, so it's pretty much just US Bank doing all the work on that front.

But I also don't see that fact anywhere in the linked article.

It's also a little bit of a meaningless statistic. It doesn't take into account, for example, the fact that although Wells Fargo is HQ'ed in San Francisco, they have massive operations in Minneapolis. And, probably Charlotte too, based on the Wachovia takeover.
