Re: MSP Airport
Third year in a row MSP ranked best airport? Huh.

I guess the bathroom upgrades have fans, too.

Re: MSP Airport
I've never caught a connecting flight at MSP (obviously), but I've always thought it compared very well to others in the US. I can't think of any domestic airports that made me think they were better than MSP.
Re: MSP Airport
I'm glad we have all of the gates behind security. Coming home from Fort Myers recently, they announced a gate change for another flight and it was in a different concourse. That entire plane of people had to go out and go through TSA again!I've never caught a connecting flight at MSP (obviously), but I've always thought it compared very well to others in the US. Re: MSP Airport
It would be nice if there was a way to go from terminal one to terminal two without having to leave the secure area.

Re: MSP Airport
If your itinerary requires you to connect between T-1 and T-2, you need to find a better travel agent.
Re: MSP Airport
Never had to do that, was just thinking it would be nice.

Re: MSP Airport
People must do it though, otherwise why would they run trains throughout the night between terminal one and two, even when all of these trains don’t go to the end of the line? If people weren’t doing it, there would be no need to run trains.

Re: MSP Airport
People definitely do it, but I think the more common reason to ride the late night shuttle train is parking at the other terminal, whether due to the ramps at the desired terminal being full, or just saving money by parking at the cheaper T2 ramps.

Re: MSP Airport
Long-term parking is now at Terminal 2, right?
See, if we all just thought more about vehicle parking, we’d all get along.

Re: MSP Airport
Also picking people up at Terminal 2 is much easier (sometimes). When my parents came home on Delta they took the train to Terminal 2 and I picked them up.

Re: MSP Airport
I believe that airport workers can get free/subsidized parking at Terminal 2, but not at Terminal 1.
Re: MSP Airport
Of all the airports I have been to in the US, MSP is absolutely one of the best. I will agree that I hate the airports where you go thru security after many of the food options and different concourses. Fort Myers is a good example of that, and so is Denver. Denver has the best food options prior to security. Doesnt make any sense.
MSP is also very clean, has cool new technology and has nice bathrooms.

MSP-ICN launches today!

This was discussed previously, but this is a big boost for connectivity with the whole of Asia.

Service from MSP to Dublin started today! Here’s an article from the Strib.

Also, here are some promotions posts for the area on Aer Lingus’s Blog

I kind of dig the old-style poster on the above link.

Re: MSP Airport
The articles about our area on the Aer Lingus blog have a couple of errors, but it is good to see MSP pick up more direct international flights. I hope that this direct flight to Ireland can be sustained.
Re: MSP Airport
I was wondering what the green airplane was that I saw yesterday over downtown around 7pm

Re: MSP Airport
One thing that will help the flight is that connecting from Europe via Dublin you do US clearance there. Not as big of a deal flying into MSP to avoid immigration as other places, but a nice thing to get out of the way.

Sun Country announced 4 new routes from MSP today.
With the addition of Portland, ME, I think this means that MSP is connected (at least seasonally) to 45 of the 49 states to which major commercial airlines fly. The states to which we don't have flights are Alabama, New Hampshire, Vermont, and West Virginia. None of the major airlines have air service to Delaware to my knowledge.
