The crowd here looks exactly how you think the crowd here looks.
The first and last time they'll be in the Guthrie.

Looking at image 4 of 32 in the image gallery, they must have mis-aligned the street grid for this rendering, right? It shows 4th Street aligned with the giant window, but it should really be 5th, I think.
I know right? I thought what's wrong with this?

The more I examine the images the better I like it. For such a massive building there is some grace to the elevations and I like how it dances on the site rather than plopping down on it.
The geometry of the design is reminiscent of the principles of Origami. Also, early in the presentation the architect showed an image of the influence of Pelli's Central Library.

It's already growing on me due to the optimal lighting & I'm sure other projects will enhance the overall design. I think more green space will factor into the final design - Mpls City Council won't let it go unnoticed.

Does anyone know yet, if more open-close windows will be available besides the ones facing downtown?

It would be great if windows opened around the entire stadium, strategic places.

PS Sorry, I don't come on here much, still trying to figure out the post features

I'm trying not to but I really hate this roof. I guess too expensive to do all ETFE?

Did anyone else notice Rybak forgot to mention a particular council member when listing all those that supported the project?

I don't know what to think about it yet.

It also has quite an interesting little row of seating directly above the glass doors.

Indigenous? Sure, looks a bit like a portable pop-up fish house.

One of the things that happens in cooking sometimes is that a chef will get so into local sourcing and showing off technique that they forget to make the food taste good. Similar things happen in all creative endeavors. This looks like the architectural version. They got so into the narrative of the building design that they forgot to make it look pretty.

In homes, north facing rooms get more sun and keep rooms warmer. I would imagine they want to block that out so it doesn't get too hot and act like a $1bil greenhouse

I'm glad they took a risk with the design. Some of the perspectives seem very promising while others look less than desirable. It'll be interesting to see how things look as they're constructing it.

I am...utterly dumbfounded.

This is heinous. I'm truly shocked by how horrendously cheap this looks. $1 Billion for this 3rd-grade science project!? Unbelievable. :(

Where is the kasota limestone? Image 14 of 32 kind of looks like kasota, but the rest all look grey. This building would look a million times better with the kasota coloring on it!

i like it. Except that picture of Adrian Peterson on the West entrance, which reminds me of a tramp stamp on a good looking girl. Good thing it can be changed - will probably say 3M or Target or whatever.
