That's a nice looking cross-section. That's the beauty of the one-way pair -- you can make section like that work quite elegantly.

Back to topic... The temporary roundabout has been removed, and the temporary traffic lights have been restored.

As long as the lanes aren't 11'+ wide with 10-12' wide parking parking lanes, it doesn't become a freeway.

I think that's one of the major problems with many American streets, to be honest. We have what is perceived to be a very wide ROW but all of a sudden becomes so cramped when you try to fit in 2 directions of travel, some semblance of on-street parking, sidewalks, turn lanes, and now (heaven forbid) dedicated bike or transit facilities. Streets in European cities are very often one-way, yet a little (to a lot) skinnier, yet they manage to get thru-lanes, some turn lanes, bus lanes, and good sidewalk amenities because the next one-way is only 250' away.

Bummer. Unless they're using this busy timeframe to do a comparison to how well it works without?

The intention was to have it in place for a month to test how it works. It's been almost exactly a month, no? Good chance to get comparisons too.

The one thing I worry is that the temporary roundabout - by way of how it had to be constructed - was significantly more difficult for buses and trucks to navigate than would be any permanently-built roundabout. I hope this fact doesn't improperly hinder the performance of the roundabout's results.
