I definitely like that the plan for the building was turned before it was built.I think it’ll be pleasantly distinctive for Minneapolis.

That parking lot sat there for too long, now it's going to be home to many people and will add some height to the area. It's not a disappointment, just waiting to see how it looks when done.I think it’ll be pleasantly distinctive for Minneapolis.

Yeah, I’m not judging the street level presence yet. Minneapolis far too often, especially along Nicollet, sucks at getting buildings built with great street level presence and I’m just numb to it.

I don't think it's feet 0-15 that are biggest problem with the building street level presence, although the layout could be better. It's feet 16-60 of parking that looms over feet 0-15 and makes it uninviting.Which is so odd because "0-15 feet are the most important" is pounded into our heads during architecture schoolYeah, I’m not judging the street level presence yet. Driving through downtown last night, they've already turned on the LED lighting on some of the balconies. Looks pretty cool.

Crane is coming down today.
Re: Ritz Residences - 365 Nicollet Mall (334' - 30 stories)
I'm going to miss watching this go up on the camera. It's a decent addition to the skyline however. I'm excited to know what Opus builds next door. Somewhere I read that Opus has a chance of getting RBC? If they got RBC and added housing perhaps they could build a tower of stature? The future building could also connect the various surrounding skyways together. We're of course more likely to get a roughly 30 story precast concrete clad tower.

I'd much prefer RBC (plus some housing or hotel on top of the office component if possible, but whatevs if not) on the remainder of this Opus block, rather than winding up in United's flawed Gateway proposal on the Nicollet Hotel block
Re: Ritz Residences - 365 Nicollet Mall (334' - 30 stories)
Me, I'm hoping for them to go with Ryan's Block 1 proposal next to the stadium. That's a perfectly acceptable tower height for that area, plus, y'know, covers up the parking ramp.

What's flawed about their proposal? Not iconic enough? Both aesthetically and in urban terms, I'd argue that the Gateway proposal is much better than anything else we've seen recently. Maybe faint praise.I'd much prefer RBC (plus some housing or hotel on top of the office component if possible, but whatevs if not) on the remainder of this Opus block, rather than winding up in United's flawed Gateway proposal on the Nicollet Hotel block

I agree, but the whole 'haven't been able to secure financing, despite having had been working on it for like three years' seems to show that there's a flaw somewhere.

The construction of 365 Nicollet from the 17th floor of 4Marq. I'm curious why they took the crane down 3 weeks ago but they haven't put wall panels on the top floors since then. I doubt Opus ran out of money...

Both this and KA block hotel have stopped work on their facades, and for KA block they even took down a temporary staircase on 9th street and restored full access to the sidewalk. The Ritz block staging area is nearly empty. I wonder if they're standing down for the superb owl?

Nice link, thank you! I sincerely hope that this superb owl will bear no resemblance to the foul fowls on display last weekend.Well, it has really pretty feathers! Learn more: https://www.reddit.com/r/Superbowl/

Re: Ritz Residences - 365 Nicollet Mall (334' - 30 stories)
I think they are finished with the precast panels and only have windows to install. There are fewer panels on the top floors on the east side of the building. Over the past few weeks they have continued to install windows in this area (you can see the frames for the windows installed on these floors, but not the windows themselves yet), so I don't think work has stopped on the facade. The construction of 365 Nicollet from the 17th floor of 4Marq. I recall reading that all construction equipment that was blocking sidewalks or roadways had to be removed by the middle of January(ish) for the Super Bowl. So they'll likely bring back a crane in February. Both this and KA block hotel have stopped work on their facades, and for KA block they even took down a temporary staircase on 9th street and restored full access to the sidewalk.
