Re: Third North - (800 Third Street North)
This is a big 'ole hole. They were working away at it when I was there yesterday afternoon.

There's a crane over here now. Also, it looks like this is going to be U-shaped instead of a big box like the rendering kinda looks like.

Is that the ramp down to the lower level of parking that we're seeing in the left foreground?

I'm really excited to see what these panels look like in reality! I have a feeling this building could be super cool and iconic.
Re: Third North - (800 Third Street North)
Yes, I think they will be very modern , but warm and cheerful looking. It will look great in our long winter season. When I see those photos above of the construction site ( on a cloudy, dreary, cold day), I appreciate the use of warm tones for a buildings' exterior in our city. Sometimes I think they should require using warm and bright colors on a building's facade as part of our building code.min-chi-cbus wrote:I'm really excited to see what these panels look like in reality! Totally....to the extent that you'd think Minneapolis would be swimming in warm-toned buildings, but it really isn't!

This is a nice looking building and quite massive but I have just about had it with six floor structures. Why is every single residential building that is going up always six levels?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

It's cheaper!! Its not an investment in the neighborhoods, its return on investment when the developer sells the building minutes after the ribbon-cutting.
Q. What, what? A. In da butt.
Re: Third North - (800 Third Street North)
This is my biggest complaint about London as well. There are so many six-story buildings there that it feels totally exurban and unwalkable. [/sarcasm]
Re: Third North - (800 Third Street North)
This is way smaller in real life than in that one rendering everyone hated.
