Impressive. This area is quite different from just a couple years ago. I like it.

I think it's awesome that they're targeting non-students. I wouldn't mind living in the Stadium Village/Prospect Park area, but there's nothing at all that's not student-focused anywhere near the Green Line. (Maybe RISE, but I don't think so.)

That design looks amazing next to moos hall. That stagger is nice. I hope this happens.

Very excited to hear that this is still on the table. I really hope it happens. I wonder what they will end up putting on the ground floor.

Most of the housing around Westgate is non student. Not sure what if the new one at 2700 University will be, but based on descriptions I figured it would be similar to 808 Berry, which is mostly adults and grad students with some students and some subsidized options.

It will be interesting to see how many parking spots end up being provided. Due to the fact that the light rail is so close, I would hope, you don't end up with a 1:1

Kinda reminds me of the Gateway project. That would be a great location to live - easy access to Cheng Heng down the Green Line.

I wish they could keep the preexisting retail base of the site and adaptively reuse it and build a tower over it.

That's true. It doesn't ever occur to me to look over the border into St. Paul. Which is a problem.

Oh boy, the comments in the Strib not understanding that "stories" can be different heights for different uses.
If that is true that Moos Towers is only 17 stories tall, then the rendering is deceiving as well. The proposed building appears to be only 3 or 4 stories taller than Moos (still a monstrosity for that area), when in fact it will be 9 stories taller than Moos - and completely out of scale for the area
SMH

Mattaudio is there trying to correct the misconception but it is in 3 or 4 different threads over there.

The design of the building is great! Hopefully this truly takes off, especially with the non-student focus.

I really hope Village Wok (yes, I know they own the site currently) and Bun Mi are able to stick around either there or nearby. It would be a shame to lose those restaurants.

Yeah, Moos tower is 295 feet tall. It requires huge service spaces between each floor because of the nature of its program. 27 stories averaging about 12 feet each with larger heights in the commercial levels and shorter heights with the parking levels would put this at a very similar scale.

How many levels of parking are they proposing?

This group visited the Prospect Park Zoning & Project Review committee last night, and the committee was very proposed. It's outside Prospect Park, but it's the closest neighborhood. On a committee that includes several architects and which has been constructively critical of quite a lot of proposals the Harbor Bay group wowed them. Looking forward to seeing this one go up.

Happy to see several smaller retail bays instead of just one big one. I hope the local businesses that are there now are able to move back in.

We were told at meeting that Espresso Expose and Big 10 are exiting. The others are still deciding.
