West Broadway Curve - (1920-2022 West Broadway)
West Broadway Curve will receive a $1 million Livable Communities grant from the Metropolitan Council. Looks like this is our old Minnescraper thread: http://minnescraper.com/forums/viewtopi ... =11&t=1776

I thought northside projects were to be ignored?
Re: West Broadway Curve - 1920-2022 West Broadway
They can be covered as long as they don't make the neighborhood too vibrant.

Isn't it terrible? It came out a couple months ago, apparently straight from hell [edit: or possibly it descended from the borg cube].

There are new renderings for this project on the CPC CoW agenda for next week. I don't like the changes. The old design had townhouses along Broadway, this is just regular units and it no longer hugs the street. Another wall on a street full of walls.

The loss of walk ups, and balconies is too bad. They did a decent job of incorporating most of the other aspects of the original proposal, playgrounds/pocket park, transit shelter, underground parking (only 10 above ground now v. 35 before), and a bend in the building to stay relatively close to the street and give the otherwise normally rectangular box a bit of definition.
The one thing I really don't like is the massive fenced area above the parking in the back. This will likely be a graveled roof with no access/accent no?

I missed the Jordan housing meeting that Common Bond presented, but I was told that there won't be any roof access. Had I attended, I would've asked what the heck happened to the original plan. I assume they needed to comply with West Broadway Alive.

Set to be approved on May 20th by CPC. Now called West Broadway Crescent.
Not sure if there's any difference between this and the last one posted, but here are the (soon to be) approved plans:
