An absolutely fascinating look into Wisconsin's transportation funding dilemma of a $939 Million shortfall in transportation funding.

As the state government has been dominated by the GOP it kind of gives a window how politics would differ if finger pointing at the rival party was removed. Numerous republicans insisting some tax raising must be on the table (there is no more "waste" in other parts of government to divert to roads anymore).
At the same time the "starve the beast" faction still not satisfied until mega-highway-projects are also stopped (not done slicing roadbuilding waste yet!)

Wisconsin has gone hog-wild on new four lane expressways/freeways over the last decade. I bet they've added 15-25% of all non-old-interstate highways in the past 10-15 years.

I mean, the way everyone talks about self-driving cars taking over in a few years - and one of the supposed benefits is how much more efficiently they will move on our existing roads - why would anyone be bothering with more lanes and roads? It's not just a moooovie!
