Metro Park East - (2701 4th Street Southeast)
Re: The Station on 4th - (2635 Fourth Street Southeast)
Is this address right, or am I missing something? When I google the address it shows this as being a bunch of random buildings behind the University Village complex.
If that's the case, it's kind of an odd location. It's a couple blocks west of the Prospect Park LRT station but just far enough from campus that it would be a long walk.
Unrelated, but are there any plans to build on the empty lot next to the Days Hotel?

The lot northwest of the Days Hotel is UMN owned land. They plan something for it with no parking. This was something I learned from a woman in the capital planning office when there was a tour of the SEMI area a year ago.

This site is now active. Barriers went up and they started demolishing the existing building a couple days ago. Again, now being called, Metro Park East.

They have completely demolished the existing structure and are removing the rubble...not long until they begin excavation and pile driving I assume.

They're on the first floor of this one. Quite a big site.
Can we get the name of this thread changed to Metro Park East by any chance?

The leasing office for this one is in one of the old conference rooms in the Commons Hotel on Washington apparently.
Side note: They also had a pretty big advertising banner up at the Gopher Football game against Nebraska a couple weeks ago... Really the first time that I've seen housing advertising at TCF like that.

So I found a link to this... Randomly... and it talks about this development being built to accomodate the expansion of the Grand Rounds... and with a lot of green space. (it's a bit older) but anyone know about grand rounds expansions being a part of this?

*like is the granary corridor going to be a part of the grand rounds or what?

Re: Metro Park East - (2701 4th Street Southeast)
Yep the city required them to reserve the space for a future 27th Ave parkway because that street is planned (somehow) to be part of the Grand Rounds and connect to the river. I have no idea how they plan to fit parkway design features into the existing segment of 27th Ave, but maybe they will increase the ROW when Glendale Townhomes is redeveloped. Part of Granary Road would also be a segment of the Grand Rounds, as would some of the other industrialish streets around there:

This project is moving along quickly. Looks like most of the structure is above the 4-story threshold, with most of it at top height of 6-stories. No siding yet, as far as I can see.

That last image makes me hope the Oak Street ramp can go away or at least be shrunk down a bit, opening up Delaware Street to be at least a little more continuous.

As much as I kvetch about the weakness of some of this current round of designs, that last photo reminds me -- at least we've come a long way since University Village. That's a major dog.
